Miss Houdini was born at the end of December 2011. She is the great-great-granddaughter of Scotty, my first leader who was one of the finest dogs I’ve ever had the privilege of working with. Houdini’s lines include Redington, Palfrey and Wood (whose pedigree goes back to Wright, Attla and Huntington). She is a very shy girl and needs someone to work with her to overcome this. I spend time with her every day and she wants desperately to play but hasn’t quite gained the confidence to follow through with what she initiates. Her mother was very much like this and is now one of the friendliest dogs you’ll ever meet. Houdini is just now being harness broken and appears to be a natural. It’s like she undergoes a transition in harness. She is a digger and her creations, while annoying, are very impressive! Houdini would do best in a smaller kennel with someone who can spend loads of time with her. She has also spent quite a bit of time inside our home.
